Best nude Lipsticks for olive and dark skin tones

As a makeup artist I get asked this question frequently by both family, friends and followers on social networks and that question is 'What nude lipstick will suit my olive/dark skin without me looking sickly  or absolutely barking mad?'. So I thought I would compile some lipstick shades that work the best for girls with a deeper complexion so lets begin

Firstly, when choosing a nude lipstick you have to be aware of the undertone of the shade in comparison to undertone of the skin. 

So what does this mean?

When picking out a nude lipstick for a dark or olive skin you have to bare in mind that most olive or dark skin tones carry warmer undertones such as golden yellows or oranges which give these skin tones their deep richness. 

Therefore when choosing your nude you need to select a shade that compliments this by choosing a lipstick that carries a more brown undertone rather than one of a pink as this is what causes the face to look drained and ill.

Remember a nude lipstick is meant to have the appearance of your lip colour but better!

There are several lipsticks which straight out the tube applied to the lip olive and dark skin tones should avoid, lets use some examples from MAC.

A tip from me is if you're in doubt about your nude lipstick begin by lining your lips with a brown lip kohl and smudge it into the lips before applying your lipstick, this way you are applying a brown undertone which will tone down any bright, pale pink tones.
